The Demolition & Asbestos Industry Association [QLD] Inc. (DAIA) was established in February 2006 to represent the broader resource recovery sector. DIA is formerly known as the Demolition Contractors Association [QLD] Inc. from 2013 to 2017 and from 2006 to 2016 the association was known as the Demolishers, Recyclers & Asbestos Contractors Association of Queensland Inc. (DRACAQ).

Our ultimate aims include:

  • the promotion of safe work practices for the demolition and asbestos removal industries; and

  • the minimisation of unnecessary landfilling achieved through increased recycling of valuable resources and materials resulting from deconstruction activities.

DAIA has adopted a Code of Best Practice to assist members in developing and conducting their own business activities in line with the aims of the association.
